Trade Adjustment Assistance

The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program provides reemployment services which may include training and job search/relocation assistance to individuals who lose their manufacturing jobs due to foreign imports or a shift in production to foreign countries with which the U.S. has a free trade agreement. Participants in this program may also receive Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA), paid on a weekly basis to individuals who exhaust their unemployment benefits while receiving training.

Pursuant to SB 1507, the Texas Workforce Commission submitted to the Texas Legislature Federal Trade Adjustment Programs - Annual Report. This report provides data regarding job placement, job retention, earnings, and the industries of workers who took jobs following a training program.
