5.1    Audit Screens Accessed through the Field Tax Main Menu

Four screens (options 16 - 19) on the Field Tax Menu are relevant to the audit program.

5.1.1    Productivity Statistics Screen

Purpose: Information displayed in the lower left-quadrant of the Productivity Statistics Screen relates to the audit program. The data indicates the number of completed audits keyed to the Agency's mainframe system. Data may be requested for an individual Accounts Examiner or for a Tax Area.

Display Fields that Relate to the Audit Program:

AE#: Accounts Examiner number.
TAX AREA: Tax Area number.
MTHLY/QTRLY QUOTA: The minimum number of completed audits required per month or per quarter to meet the annual audit quota.
MTHLY/QTRLY COMPLETED: The number of completed audits keyed to the Agency’s mainframe computer during the current month.
MTHLY/QTRLY VARIANCE: The difference between the monthly audit quota and the number of completed audits keyed during the current month.
ANNUAL QUOTA: The minimum number of audits required to be keyed in order to meet the yearly audit quota.
YTD COMPLETED: The number of completed audits keyed to the Agency’s mainframe computer during the current year (January 1 – December 31).
ANNUAL VARIANCE: The difference between the yearly audit quota and the number of completed audits keyed during the current year.

5.1.2    Audit Quota Entry Screen and Audit Quota Display Screen

Purpose: These two screens are used to enter and to view audit quotas. The FTQ - Audit Quota Entry screen is used to enter audit quotas for the eight tax regions. It is also used to enter audit quotas for each individual Accounts Examiner. Monthly average quotas or quarterly quotas may be set for each Accounts Examiner. After the quotas are entered, they may be viewed by accessing the FTV - Audit Quota Display screen. Corrections or changes to the audit quotas are made by returning to the FTQ - Audit Quota Entry screen and entering another number.

Employer Tax System Audit Quota Display

5.1.3    Employer Call-In Appointment Screen

Purpose: This screen is an on-line list of two types of letters (Audit notification letters and call-in appointment letters) that were requested by the Accounts Examiner.
