Chapter 1: Status Investigations |
|
Newly liable employers can establish a new state unemployment tax account online. Upon completion of the registration process, employers are provided with a TWC account number which they can immediately begin using. UTR was created based upon feedback from external and internal users and contains the following new features.
Employers must complete the User ID and User Profile pages. The User ID and password they create will be used each time they access the system. Next, employers will enter account registration information by completing the required fields and submitting the data to TWC over the Internet. The account number is provided immediately to the submitter. If the employer is subject under any subsection of the TUCA but 201.022 (acquisition), the user may immediately proceed to UTS and file and pay any report that is due or past due. After processing overnight in the regular Tax run, New Employer Packets are produced and mailed to the employer.
Status Accounts Examiners review the data input and make any necessary corrections to the styling of the account, verifying that the account processed correctly. If the employer had a predecessor account, necessary modifications to that account are also made.
Screen edits are indicated on the pages, and all edits must be passed to enable the user to submit the registration.
