6.2      Confidentiality of Information

In the course of official TWC duties it may become necessary for Tax Personnel to examine records (hardcopy and/or computer) in order to complete their assigned duties. Information obtained from the examination of these records will be used for official TWC business ONLY and will be kept in strict confidence. Note: Records examined may be provided by the claimant, employer, CPA/bookkeeper, etc.

Tax Department personnel also have access to other sources of confidential information (hardcopy and/or computer). Information obtained from these sources will be used for official TWC business ONLY and will be kept in strict confidence.

NO information (no matter the source) will be released, unless said release is in compliance with TWC's open records policies.
