Good judgment and consideration of all known factors normally make apparent which work items are
more urgent and deserve priority. The following, in order of precedence, is a general guide to be
used by an examiner in determining work priority:
- State Office assignments involving a claimant disagreement.
- Report delinquency assignments.
- Collection activities requiring immediate action.
- Status investigations arising locally where assistance is requested.
- Status and other investigative assignments more than thirty (30) days old.
- Field audits until assigned quota is accomplished.
- Current assignment and collection activities.
- Other tax, public education, and service activities.
- Field audits in excess of quota.
