Helpful Information for Claimants

The Texas Workforce Commission is experiencing extremely high call volume. Many states across the nation are facing the same challenges due to the federal extension of unemployment insurance benefits. Due to the increased workload, and the difficulties customers are having reaching staff, TWC will not penalize claimants who are unable to reach us in a timely manner.

• Please use our online services at http://ui.texasworkforce.org to apply for regular unemployment insurance or check the status of your existing claim.
• After you have applied for and exhausted regular unemployment insurance benefits, TWC will keep you informed about any additional weeks of unemployment benefits (PDF) you may be eligible to receive.

Call Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. (Central Time) for all unemployment insurance services. Call Saturday and Sundays 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Central Time) to submit a new application for UI benefits, reset your PIN, and change your address.
